Brevard NEXT — Code of Conduct
Effective date: August 17, 2026
Brevard NEXT trains adults, and this code is between you and the Company directly — there is no parent or guardian in the loop. If something needs to be said about your conduct, your coach will say it to you.
Most of what follows is what you would do anyway. It is written down so that expectations are shared, and so that if a problem ever arises, nobody is surprised by how it is handled.
What we expect of you
Train with intent. Show up ready to work, follow the coaching cues you're given, and ask when something isn't clear.
Respect other members. Everyone in the space is somewhere in their own progress. No commentary on another member's body, weight, ability, or pace.
Respect your coach. Disagree openly and directly if you want to — but the coach runs the session, and safety calls are the coach's to make.
Keep it clean. Language and behavior that would make a stranger uncomfortable in a shared gym doesn't belong in a session.
Shared spaces — gym and park etiquette
Sessions run in shared facilities and public parks. We are guests in most of them, and how we behave decides whether we keep access.
Re-rack plates and dumbbells, return bands, cones, and sleds, and wipe down anything you sweat on.
Don't sit on equipment between sets when someone is waiting; share racks and benches when the space is busy.
Treat equipment as if you're paying to replace it — no dropping loaded bars outside designated areas, no using gear for what it wasn't built for.
Follow every posted rule of the host facility or park, including parking, hours, and noise. Their rules stack on top of this code.
Pack out what you bring in — bottles, wrappers, tape, chalk.
Damage: tell your coach immediately if something breaks. Accidents happen and are not a conduct problem; hiding them is. You may be responsible for the cost of equipment damaged through misuse.
Punctuality and cancellations
Arrive on time and warmed up where possible. Sessions start when they're scheduled; a late arrival shortens your own session, not everyone else's.
If you can't make a session, tell your coach as early as you can. Late cancellations and no-shows cost a slot that another member could have used.
Repeated no-shows without notice are treated as a conduct matter, not just a scheduling one. Any credit, make-up, or refund arrangement is whatever you and Coach agreed when you joined — this code doesn't change it.
Harassment and discrimination are prohibited
There is no version of this that gets a warning shot. Prohibited, without exception:
Harassment or discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
Sexual harassment of any kind — unwanted advances, comments about someone's body, sexual jokes aimed at a person, or unwanted physical contact.
Threats, intimidation, bullying, stalking, or violence of any kind.
Photographing or filming another member without their clear permission. Consent to be photographed is per-person and per-occasion (see the Photo/Video Release).
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Conduct in this section can end a membership immediately, without the steps described below.
Substances
Do not train under the influence of alcohol or any substance — legal, prescribed, or otherwise — that impairs your balance, judgment, or reaction time. If your coach believes you are impaired, you will be asked to sit out that session. That call is about safety, not judgment, and it is not negotiable in the moment.
No alcohol, cannabis, or illegal drugs at training locations, and no possession or distribution of illegal substances at any Brevard NEXT activity.
Tell your coach about prescription medications that affect your training — blood pressure, blood thinners, sedatives, anything that changes how your body responds to exertion or heat. That information stays between you and your coach.
Performance-enhancing drugs are your own business and your own risk; your coach will not program around them, source them, or advise on them.
Honesty about your health
Your program is only as good as the information behind it. You agree to answer health questions truthfully at intake and to tell your coach promptly about a new injury, illness, diagnosis, medication, surgery, or pregnancy, and about any restriction a physician has given you. Withholding this is a conduct issue because it puts a coach in the position of programming blind. See the Informed Consent & Health Screening document for detail.
What happens if this code is broken
We handle problems in the order below, in the ordinary case. The Company may start at any step — including termination — where the conduct is serious, unsafe, or repeated, at its discretion.
A conversation. Your coach raises it with you directly and privately. Most things end here.
A written warning. Delivered to you in the app or by email, stating what happened and what needs to change.
Suspension. Time away from sessions for a stated period. Membership fees are not automatically paused or refunded during a suspension for conduct.
Termination of membership. Access ends. Any refund of unused, prepaid fees is at the Company's discretion.
Serious safety threats, harassment, violence, or illegal activity can result in immediate removal from a session and immediate termination. We may also involve facility management or law enforcement where the situation warrants it.
Raising a concern
Bring it to Coach directly — in person before or after a session, by message in the app, or by email or phone using the contact details below. You can ask that a conversation stay confidential, and we will keep it as confidential as we can while still addressing the problem. Raising a concern in good faith will never be held against you, even if the outcome isn't what you hoped for. If your concern is about the coach, say so plainly; the Company's owner will handle it.
How you accept this code
You accept this Code of Conduct by checking the acceptance box at signup. We record your name, the version of this document you accepted, and the date and time of acceptance. If a material change is made, you'll be asked to review and accept the new version before continuing. You may request a copy of your acceptance record at any time.
